Located in 25 de Mayo – San Rafael at 850 mts. on a hill selected from a parcel characterized by a soil profile of sand and clay that mix with round rocks. Debudding, leave thinning and cluster thinning lead to yields of 6000 kg per ha. French rooted vines planted in 2003, conducted on a vsp and irrigated by drip irrigation.

WINEMARKING

Selection and destemming. Fermentation takes place in small concrete tanks at controlled temperatures (25°) with selected yeasts. After a maceration period of 20 days the wine does spontaneous malolactic fermentation. All of the wine is aged in American (30%) and French (70%) oak barrels of 225 lts during 12 months. Clarified, lightly filtered and bottled. Bottle aged for at least 12 months prior to being released.

TASTING NOTES

Strong garnet red coloured wine. It is rich in aromas and fruity hints from blackcurrant, cherries and blackberry combined with a delicious subtle of red pepper, vanilla and toasted notes from its time with French and American oak. A sturdy wine with an harmonious balance of ripe, full and fruity flavors and a lingering finish.
